malacca

went to Malacca the next day after my last paper, which was on 27/6 . a trip organised by another group of uni friends. left for Malacca on wednesday evening, as some of us had their final paper on wednesday morning. spent a night there, back to KL on thursday night

view from the suite we stayed in..it was around 3pm plus 4pm when we reached Malacca

view from my room. i shared a room with another 3 girls. there were 3 rooms in the suite for 14 of us

twilight at the place where we stayed

our first meal. all the people in the trip. i am holding the camera

all the 7 guys

all the 7 girls

before we settled down for our first meal, actually we had spent quite a lot of time searching for this shop famous for its satay celup. went round and round the malacca city for at least half an hour and when we finally found it, it was actually closed that day....... at the end we decided to stay in Malacca for dinner on thursday just becos we wanted to try the satay celup in this shop

a few of us started to take the picture of this shop becos of the wonderful effort we put it to locate it but ended up looking at a sign saying 'closed today'. and nicole always knows i am taking photo from the back...she will always turn back and give me a perfect smile whenever i try to take a pic from behind quietly hahhaaa. just like this one. i wonder how she knows i am taking photo hehe

our third meal of the night. the second one was a noodle shop, this one is a cha siew fan shop. a moment when everyone was chatting happily..

"how much how much??"

after the third meal we went back to the hotel for a while before we came out again. one of us, Jun Jie, decided to treat everyone of us McD ice cream. he was just so nice..trying to get all of us going out together again :)

the lounge in the hotel which we stopped by for just a few minutes before McD. it was closing and nothing much also..

midnight ice cream treat at McD

slurrrppss...

walking back (very bad lighting...too bad)
the mosque somewhere far which could be seen from the suite we stayed in

midnight empty street

Thursday early morning. i woke up around 7.15am plus..usually no matter where i go, i wont be able to sleep too good during the first night at the place where i stay. so the next morning i will always wake up quite early, no matter how late i sleep the night before

i like the reflection on the water. oh thats the mosque which i mentioned previously

yueh wen and nicole. 3 of us had a morning walk around the malacca town area while others still in their dreamland

i like the flowery pattern. this is the entrance for a shopping centre at Dataran Pahlawan

one corner of Dataran Pahlawan

interesting stairs. the picture on every step is a part of a big drawing. if you combine all the steps together, you will see a very nice drawing.

lovely ladies. lovely stairs.

chien wen. yueh wen. (this reminded me of a funy incident nicole told me. my name and yueh wen's name both have a 'wen' and usually people call her wen. during the trip, there was once nicole wanted to call me, but she just pressed 'call' when she saw the name 'wen' in her phone number list, which actually stands for yueh wen, not chien wen..hahaha)

Geronimo!

just at the doorstep. didnt climb up to the famosa though

on our way back to the hotel

the cloud arrangement on the sky looks kind of fake...but it is real

somewhere in the hotel

some time before we checked out of the room

the famous chicken rice balls. they are really VERY DELICIOUS..

after the nice lunch we went to Jonker Street before watching Transformers later in the afternoon. this shop is the Orang Utan House, a shop selling the art work by Charles Cham. quite like some of his T shirt designs, but couldnt make myself to pay for them..the price is just a little too high

the entrance

the T shirt designs. actually i was told that i wasnt supposed to take any photos in the shop. but the shopkeeper still didnt really stop me though after he told me not to take photos. so ya loh..dont care. just take :p

'i love chicken rice!'

'to lah or not to lah'....lah lah lah

another corner of the shop. hmm to think about it now, i am quite glad that the shopkeeper didnt chase me out of the shop becos of illegal photo taking hehe

nice building

after spending some time at the Jonker Street, we finally made our way to our ultimate goal before the movie: the nice chendol shop. a very special shop with very unique tradisional decorations. felt as if i went back in time to another era

a staircase showcasing antique fans, antique phones, antique irons..

lost in time

old posters

overview of the shop

a memory captured in time

another lovely building

the ship which houses a museum. it looked really beautiful at night..but still we didnt have a chance to stop by to take a nice photo of it. took this while we were on our way for the movie.
TRANSFORMERS! many of us wanted to watch it so badly and we tried to buy the tickets for the preview when we arrived on wednesday. but there was no previews and would only be released on thursday. so on thursday, few of us went to grab the tickets. the line was quite long, eventhough it was only 11.30am...but being a movie bug, i didnt want to give up just becos of the long queue. so i insisted to queue. and in the end we did manage to get the tickets hehehe..THANK GOD. the movie was REALLY GREAT!! it just brought back all the wonderful childhood memories..i loved transformers SO MUCH when i was still a little girl. and now i am watching them yet again, with all the amazing transformations. last time they just transform in simple 2 or 3 steps, but in the movie, every single detail transforms and it is just so fasinating!!!! i love that movie..

after the movie, we went for the satay celup that we missed out the night before. and that brings us to the end of the trip..

time to say goodbye

life in Malacca carries on. and each of our lives carry on too..lovely trip. lovely memory.
back to KL
